The European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations (EFPIA)
The European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations (EFPIA) represents the pharmaceutical industry across Europe. With 36 national associations and 39 leading pharmaceutical companies as its members, its main goal is to create a collaborative environment to innovate, discover, develop and deliver new therapies and vaccines across Europe, as well as to contribute to the European economy.
Servier is an active member of EFPIA and invests time and energy to achieve the common goal of a healthier future for Europe based on prevention, innovation, access to new treatments and better outcomes for patients.
#WeWontRest
In 2017 EFPIA launched a campaign called #WeWontRest which explains the real mission and impact of the pharmaceutical industry on people’s lives by sharing more about what the industry does and why as well as telling stories that involve all the stakeholders around Europe.
#WeWontRest is divided into different chapters:
The first one underlines the concept of “illness never sleep so neither can we” and the commitment to tackle the different diseases.
“For a brighter tomorrow” and “for the chance” underlines the hope for innovation and for a better life for patients. It gives the patients perspective on the challenges they face daily and what they are fighting for.
“Connecting healthcare” explains how working together (in partnership, collaborating and making connections) is a great asset to the patient journey through the illness.
Medicines for Europe
Medicines for Europe brings together 26 national associations and 35 pharmaceutical companies active in Europe. It’s the voice of the generic and biosimilar industries.
Medicines for Europe is dedicated to provide sustainable access to high quality generics for all European patients. It began as the European Generics Medicines Association (EGA) with the goal of representing the emerging generic industry, and later growing to include biosimilar medicines to its portfolio.
Medicines for Europe recently added Value Added Medicines in its scope. Those are usually known medicines that are tailored to offer patients a more adapted treatment, enhancing for example, quality of life, adherence or compliance.
Egis, a specialized subsidiary of Servier, focused on generics and value-added medicines, is an active member of Medicines for Europe.
GIRP
GIRP, the European Healthcare Distribution Association, is the umbrella organization for pharmaceutical full-line wholesalers and distributors of healthcare products and services in Europe.
They are committed to develop and provide innovative and efficient healthcare products and services, to improve health and wellbeing of patients across Europe. Servier is a member of GIRP since 2016.
